Newhouse rebuked by Republicans

ARLINGTON – The Washington State Republican Party has rebuked two of its own in Congress after they voted Jan. 13 to support the impeachment of President Donald Trump.

By a vote of 111-2, Reps. Dan Newhouse of Sunnyside and Jamie Herrera Beutler of Battle Ground were chastised in a resolution approved by Republican committee members statewide Saturday, Jan. 16.

Newhouse and Herrera Beutler, as well as eight other Republicans from across the country, joined Democrats on Jan. 13 in accusing President Trump of “incident of insurrection.”
