Sheriff accused of election law violations

RITZVILLE - A post endorsing candidates in two county commissioner races was pulled off the Adams County Sheriff's Office's Facebook page, after a complaint was filed Oct. 12 with the state Public Disclosure Commission.

According to the state election law (Revised Code of Washington 42.17A.555), no elected official or public employee may use the facilities of a public office for the purpose of assisting a campaign.
