City Public Works crew member Kevin Schaeffer stands on a newly-installed storm drain line, to hold it in place while Justin Ziebell directs Ned Bernath in the Bobcat to start piling dirt on top.

RITZVILLE - Homeowner Jerry Furman was happy to see the city's Public Works crew install a new storm drain line for half a block near his home at the corner of Washington and First Thursday, Oct. 8.

"We never had any real drainage here, so we're redirecting it out to our storm water holding pond by Napa," project lead Justin Ziebell said.

"Those last couple of rainstorms were a problem," Kevin Schaeffer said.

"They're doing a good job trying to take of what's been a problem for a long time," Furman said.

Also working on the project was Ned Bernath.
