Two locals make honor roll

SPOKANE – Serah Comstock of Ritzville earned a place on the Spokane Falls Community College honor roll for summer quarter 2020. Spokane Falls Community College serves about 7,600 students on campuses in west Spokane, Fairchild Air Force Base and Pullman.

Ronni Vowels of Othello earned a place on the Spokane Community College honor roll for summer quarter 2020. Spokane Community College enrolls about 30,000 students throughout northeastern Washington.

Summer quarter for both community colleges ran from July 1 through August 21. To be on the honor roll, students must have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.

ADAMS COUNTY – The Energy Assistance Program OIC of Washington opened registration for winter season assistance September 17.

To be eligible, you must live within Adams or Grant County, fall within the income guidelines, show proof of income for the previous three months, and provide proof of identification for every member of the home.

Auxiliary aid services are available upon request to persons with disabilities.

Items collected for fire victims

Ritzville – A collection of non-perishable items is being taken up for neighbors affected by the wildfires.

Diane Kennedy, owner of The Caddy Shack restaurant at the Ritzville Golf Course, is collecting nonperishable household items and personal items through Sept. 26. Kennedy said she will have a truck parked on the street near the Caddy Shack for drop-offs. Kennedy is also hosting a Spaghetti Feed Sept 26, beginning at noon,

with all proceeds going to help neighbors affected by the fires.

The Caddy Shack is located at 104 E. 10th Avenue.
