Vote Dan Blankenship for general election

I see that Dan Blankenship will be running for Adams County Commissioner in the November 4 General Election. Adams County voters will be fortunate to have such a qualified person serve on the Board of Commissioners. Dan is an Adams County native son. Over the years he spent time teaching me, an inexperienced state representative from the Olympic Peninsula, about production agriculture, water issues and what it takes to make a living in eastern Washington. He understands the issues voters face because he deals with them every day. Adams County voters have a unique opportunity to elect one of their own. I hope you vote for Dan Blankenship.

What’s wrong with this picture?

There’s a lot to appreciate about farmers donating potatoes and volunteers helping to distribute them.

But if one is awake, it’s also deeply disturbing that farmers will soon “plow under a billion pounds of potatoes.”

Mind you that, this year, billions of people are forecast to starve to death around the world due to weather having caused crop failures globally and unprecedented locust migrations.

Even in the U.S., the supply of food for restaurants can’t be repackaged fast enough to avoid a 50% food shortage for months.

And too many truckers will be out of business for farmers to ship all of the next crops.

Why? You noticed that government regulations prevent better solutions?

And no one is doing anything to solve this bigger problem.

Is there really no solution to this?

How about you?

Any reason you aren’t getting on the phone and calling every politician supposedly representing you to demand they solve the problem now?

Also call a few relatives or friend to do the same.

And don’t forget to pray.

That is, if you care about others and, for that matter, would rather not soon be hungry.

Oh, and when forecasts said three million would die from COVID-19, sheltering in place seemed sensible.

Now that actual deaths are less than most annual flu season totals, what motivation could politicians possibly have to cause millions to die of starvation by requiring sheltering in place to continue indefinitely, or until “vaccines” are available?

No one has prevented colds yet, so what do you suppose is going on with that?

Endorsement of John Marshall

It has been a distinct privilege and pleasure to have met and worked with Adams County Commissioner John Marshall over the last two years and that is why I am endorsing him for reelection this fall.

I first met John while attending a regional meeting of Eastern Washington Commissioners not long after being elected Commissioner for Columbia County. During those meetings I was always impressed by his dedication to the work, and the thought he gave to the issues. Since his business is along the route I take to these meetings, I immediately took the opportunity to stop in and visit to get to know him better.

I learned that John and I share a connection as veterans and patriots, and a strong desire to do the best for all or our constituents. His willingness to share his experiences has helped me avoid the loss of time, effort, and energy that comes from “re-inventing the wheel” and following dead end paths. The economic development he has helped to create is something I strive to bring to Columbia County.

Commissioner John Marshall is an asset to the people of Adams County, and a valued partner in local government in our region. In these uncertain times, John is a true patriot willing to defend what America and the people of Eastern Washington believe in. I highly encourage you to retain his services and reelect him this fall.
