August 1

Traffic Accident – North Batum Road and West Rosenoff Road Ritzville

Report of a vehicle in a collision. Deputies contacted the driver who advised he failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway. The driver was cited with an infraction.

Agency Assist – 1000 block East Cedar Street Othello

Report of an unresponsive subject at the location. Deputies assisted with providing emergency first aid. The subject was transported to a medical center.

Suspicious – 600 block South Thacker Road Othello

Request for law enforcement assistance after receipt of suspicious email. Deputies advised the complainant to delete the email and contact the credit card company.

Assault – 100 block West 2nd Street Lind

Report of a front store window broken out. Video footage showed an assault occurred. The victim was punched and pushed into the window. Investigation is ongoing.

Juvenile Problem – East Scooteny Street and South 4th Avenue Othello

An ATV was observed operating on public roadway without required safety equipment. The juveniles were released to their parents.

Welfare Check – 600 block South Allen Road Othello

Request for a welfare check at the location. The subject advised all was fine.

Traffic Accident – West Bench Road and South Highway 17 Othello

Report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of the listed location. Deputies observed the vehicle had been driven off of the roadway resulting in damage to the vehicle. The driver, Javier Ramirez, was arrested and booked into jail for DUI.

Suspicious – 1600 block West 1st Avenue Ritzville

Report of a subject sleeping in his car. Deputies located the subject near the Ritzville pool. The subject advised he was tired and sleeping before heading home.

Suspicious – 800 block South Highway 24 Othello

Complainant reported an unknown subject was following them in a white pickup truck. Complainant came to a stop at the location where unknown subject left the area.

Traffic Offense – North Highway 395 near milepost 93 Ritzville

A vehicle was stopped for speeding 116 MPH in a 70 MPH zone. The driver, Tracy Birge, was arrested and booked into jail for reckless driving.

Traffic Hazard – West Cunningham Road Othello

Report of three vehicles racing near the location.

Traffic Offense – East Lee Street and North 7th Avenue Othello

Josue Medina was arrested and booked into jail for reckless driving and three counts of reckless endangerment.

Nuisance/Noise – South Wagon Road Othello

Report of loud music. The responsible agreed to lower the volume.

Fire – 2800 block West Bench View Lane Othello

Report of a structure fire at the location. Deputies observed a small brush fire. Fire units arrived and put out the fire.

Traffic Offense – West Lee Road and South Steele Road Othello

A vehicle was observed stopped on the roadway at the location along with other vehicles. The driver admitted to attempting to race. The driver, Juan Sanchez, was arrested and booked into jail.

Agency Assist – 1300 block North Highway 261 Ritzville

Deputies assisted the Ritzville Police Department with locating a possible intoxicated driver at the location.

August 2

Agency Assist – 700 block East Gemstone Othello

The Othello Police Department requested assistance on a domestic assault at the location. Deputies assisted in clearing the residence.

Malicious Mischief – West Charla Lane and South Diana Lane Othello

A county owned road sign was observed covered in blue markings. The markings were documented and public works was advised for future repairs.

August 3

Traffic Accident – West Kenfield Lane and South Taylor Road Othello

Report of a two-vehicle blocking collision at the location. Deputies observed reportable damage on both vehicles. A traffic infraction was issued.

Littering – 900 block South Johnson Road Othello

Report of littering at the location. Deputies provided the complainant with resources and recommendations to help prevent future occurrences.

Suspicious – West Margaret Lane Othello

Report of a suspicious call at the location. Deputies contacted a subject who was drinking in the parking lot. The subject and his friends left the area without issues.

Traffic Offense – South Broadway Avenue and East Main Street Othello

A vehicle was observed spinning its tires on the roadway near the location. The driver, Biyo Ayala-Silva, was arrested, cited and released from the scene for Reckless Driving.

Traffic Hazard – South Thacker Road and West Highway 26 Othello

Report of a traffic hazard at the location where a vehicle was reported swerving in the roadway. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

Traffic Offense – East 2nd Street and North “S” Street Lind

A driver, Richard Dew, was arrested, cited, and released from the scene for Driving While License Suspended 3rd Degree.

Suspicious – 2200 block North Bauman Road Ritzville

Report of a male subject at the door saying he was an exchange student and taking a survey of how many children lived at the residence. The subject appeared to be a foreign student requesting information.

Agency Assist – South Highway 395 near milepost 89 Ritzville

Washington State Patrol requested a deputy remove tire debris from the roadway at the location due to no troopers being available to respond.

Suspicious – 800 block South Stoneridge Lane Othello

Report of receipt of a credit card on a line of credit that was not requested. The complainant was advised to contact the credit provider, cancel the card, and monitor his credit report.

Violation of a Court Order – East I-90 near milepost 200 Ritzville

Report of a subject who would not exit a vehicle at the location. Depututies determined the complainant was in violation of a court order and had assaulted the subject. Kimberly Ferrell was arrested and booked into jail for Assault 4th Degree DV and Protection Order Violations.

Agency Assist – 800 block South Buena Vista Drive Othello

Report of an active fire at the location. Deputies advised a subject of the current burn ban in place.

Theft – 600 block South Canal Road Othello

Report of a child’s bike stolen. The bike was taken approximately two weeks prior with the unidentified suspect leaving a separate bike in its place. Investigation is ongoing.

Suspicious – 2100 block Weste April Street Othello

Report of a subject standing in the middle of the roadway and yelling at people. Deputies didn’t locate the subject.

DUI – South Booker Road and West Herman Road Othello

Report of a possible DUI at the location. Deputies did not locate the described vehicle.

Suspicious – 300 block West 3rd Street Lind

Complainant advised of two loud bangs on her front door. Deputies were not able to locate the source of the noise.

Agency Assist – 100 block East Pine Street Othello

An Othello Police Department officer advised of a subject leaving the vehicle during a traffic stop. Deputies acted as cover until additional Othello Police Department officers arrived.

Suspicious – 2100 block West Cunningham Road Othello

False medical alarm.

Agency Assist – South Broadway Avenue and West Teck Street Othello

Othello Police Department officers advised of an intoxicated subject near the location. The subject had repeatedly attempted to exit a moving vehicle. Deputies acted as cover while the subject was taken into custody.

August 4

Citizen Dispute – 100 block South Lutcher Avenue Lind

Report of a citizen dispute at the location. The subjects advised of a dispute over a subject walking his dog in front of her property.

Suspicious – 1600 block West Lee Road Othello

Report of a suspicious call at the location. Deputies determined no criminal activity had occurred.

Suspicious – 700 block South Sunset Acres Road Othello

Report of a suspicious vehicle that had been parked near the location for several hours. Deputies contacted subjects inside the vehicle. A juvenile was later taken home.

Suspicious – 1000 block East Tokio Road Ritzville

Report of a suspicious person selling books door to door. Complainant advised it appeared the subject was possibly driving a white vehicle.

Suspicious – 600 block South Taylor Road Othello

Report of a suspicious vehicle at the location.

Suspicious – 1600 block West Lee Road Othello

Report of a subject hearing voices and starting a fire. Deputies arrived on scene and detained the subject. The subject was transported to Othello Community Hosptial for a mental health evaluation.

August 5

Suspicious – 700 block South Sunset Acres Road Othello

Report of a suspicious call at the location where the complainant left the residence. Deputies attempted contact via phone with the complainant.

Burglary – 600 block South Andes Road Othello

Report of a burglary in progress. Deputies detained a subject, who advised of being a tenant at the location. The complainant denied the subject being a tenant. The burglary portion will be submitted to prosecutor’s office for review. Elmer Gonzalez was arrested and booked into jail for having multiple outstanding arrest warrants.

Threatening – 300 block East 5th Lind

Report of a threatening call at the location. The subject was served with a temporary harassment order.

Hazardous Condition – 600 block South Danielle Road Othello

Report of subjects smoking near private property. A subject threw a lit cigarette into some brush which caused a small fire. The subjects advised deputies a male subject sat on a bee’s nest, and the bees attacked him.

Citizen Assist – 500 block South Booker Road Othello

A subject requested assistance after his vehicle became disabled at the location. The subject was given a courtesy ride into the City of Othello.

Citizen Dispute – 300 block North “I” St Lind

Complainant reported her husband and another subject were in an argument over property at the location. Both subjects were contacted and advised everything was fine and payment for the property would be taken care of in the morning.

Traffic Hazard – East Danekas Road and East Schoessler Road Ritzville

Report of a stop sign at the intersection knocked down. The stop sign was attached to a traffic barrel, so there was no damage when it was knocked over.

Citizen Assist – South Thacker Road Othello

Report of a vehicle left at the location with its tail lights on. Deputies located the tractor. The tail lights were turned off.

Agency Assist – 800 block East Hemlock Street Othello

Deputies assisted the Othello Police Department with a weapon offense call at the location.

August 6

Suspicious – 1500 block West 1st Avenue Ritzville

Report of a tan colored van parked at the location for the past hour. Complainant advised a white colored car pulled up next to the van and now has all its doors open. Due to priority calls, Ritzville Police was asked to handle the call.

Citizen Assist – 500 block South Booker Road Othello

Request for a courtesy ride back to a disabled vehicle to meet up with the mechanic. The subject, who had been given a courtesy ride into town by the previous shift, was transported to his vehicle.

Citizen Assist – 900 block South Highway 261 Washtucna

Complainant requested contact regarding a firearm he has that he doesn’t know where it came from. It was determined the firearm was a BB gun and belonged to complainant’s roommate.

Threatening – 300 block East 8th Street Lind

Complainant advised of a subject threatening their customer service representatives by phone.

Alarm – 400 block South Billington Road Othello

False alarm.

Suspicious – 2200 block West Barbara Road Othello

Complainant reported a suspicious teenager prowling around a home he was watching. Complainant believes the juvenile lives nearby. Incident occurred between 10:00 and 11:00 p.m. on the 31st. Investigation is ongoing.

Welfare Check – 2100 block West Peter Lane Othello

Welfare check. Deputies located a subject at the location and were requested to call for an ambulance due to the subject being ill.

August 7

Traffic Hazard – 700 block South Reynolds Road Othello

A vehicle was observed parked, partially in the travel portion of the roadway at the location. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Violation of a Court Order – 100 block North “I” Street Lind

Complainant advised her ex-boyfriend drove past her several times. Deputies spoke with the involved subjects and obtained statements. Investigation is ongoing.

Traffic Accident – North Benzel Road Ritzville

Report of a wheat truck rolled over at the location. The driver was not injured. Deputies completed a state collision report.

Animal Problem – 2000 block West Bench Road Othello

Complainant advised of a chained-up dog in a kennel getting sprayed with water. Deputies observed the dog inside the kennel was not chained up. A sprinkler was spraying water into half of the kennel and the other half was dry. The responsible was contacted and advised of the report being made. No signs of animal neglect/abuse.

Agency Assist – Highway 395 near milepost 68 Lind

WSP requested assistance with a roll over collision at the location. The only trooper on duty in the area was busy with a DUI arrest. Deputies completed a state collision report.

Suspicious – East Urquhart Road Ritzville

Report of subjects on the overpass. The subjects advised they were just taking photographs of themselves. They were warned to stay off the overpass.

Agency Assist – 2100 block West May Street Othello

Request for law enforcement presence while checking on a juvenile at the location. Complainant advised of possible child abuse/neglect occurring. Investigation is ongoing.

Animal Problem – 300 block East 3rd Street Lind

Complainant advised her neighbor’s dog chased and bit her pants leg. Investigation is ongoing.
