Schoessler bridge over I-90 inspected and reopened

RITZVILLE — Schoessler Road Bridge over I-90 passed an inspection and was reopened Tuesday evening, June 30, after being struck by a truck bearing an oversized load earlier in the day.

Washington State Department of Transportation crews closed the bridge and a short stretch of I-90 Westbound at milepost 226 as a precaution during the day Tuesday while inspectors evaluated the extent of the damage.

According to Adams County Sheriff Dale Wagner, a truck hauling an excavator hit the bridge in a hit and run.
