K9 Garrett apprehends criminal

RITZVILLE – A motorcycle pursuit in three counties in the early morning hours of June 10 ended when Adams County Sheriff's Office K9 Garrett apprehended the subject.

The pursuit began in Franklin County, when driver Benjamin Garfield eluded police at speeds of over 100 mph. The pursuit then crossed into Grant county, in the Royal Camp area, then crossed into Adams county, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Garfield wrecked the motorcycle and attempted to flee on foot, according to Adams County Sheriff's Office.

Adams County Sheriff's deputies released K9 Garrett, who apprehended the subject with a bite to the left arm, taking him to the ground, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Deputies then took Garfield into custody, on a felony warrant for trying to escape. Garfield is being held on several charges, according to Adams County Sheriff's Office staff.
