For April 13-27

Herre are the calls for service for the Ritzville Police Department for April 13-27:

April 13 (continued from last week)

13:34 — A request was received from a state agency for an officer to conduct a welfare check on children living at an apartment in Ritzville. Responding officer reported findings to the state agency.

15:07 — Vehicle prowl at a business on East First Street. It was determined a suspect entered a fenced lot and attempted to gain entry into a vehicle stored in the lot.

20:40 — Harassment and possible stalking at a residence on Columbia Avenue. The complainant was advised to block all contact on the phone and social media sites, and to consider seeking a restraining or anti-harassment order.

April 14

12:40 — A local business called regarding a subject in the restroom for an extended period of time. The subject left prior to the responding officer’s arrival.

15:23 — Call regarding a child custody dispute. The subject was contacted and it was suggested they contact their attorney and or the court that had issued the custody order.

23:17 — An Adams County Superior Court restraining order was served on a subject living in Ritzville.

April 15

19:22 — Call regarding juveniles shooting Airsoft guns. Responding officer contacted the parents to advise the shooting of air rifles is not allowed in the city.

April 16

13:05 — Report of garbage being dumped on complainant’s property on North Washington Street. It was determined a local business had stacked some material against the complainant’s fence during a remodel project and it would be removed in the next day or two.

17:45 — Report a rear license plate was stolen off a pickup while it was parked at work today between 06:45 and 17:30. The complainant will be contacting DOL to obtain new plates.

19:58 — On-duty officer responded to assist the Ritzville Ambulance on a medical call.

23:15 — Welfare check on a subject who may be suicidal. Responding officer made contact with the subject who had a family member with him and appeared fine.

April 17

07:42 — Call regarding on-going harassment from a former girlfriend and her new boyfriend. Responding officer suggested the complainant may want to consider blocking all contact on the phone, through social media and obtain an anti-harassment order on the subjects involved.

15:00 — A complainant on East Broadway Avenue requested contact with an officer regarding people dumping scrap metal on her property. The items in question had been there for quite some time, as grass and weeds had grown up around the items. The complainant said they got a letter from the city to clean up their property and believe someone else had been dumping the parts there.

April 18

00:24 — Report of a white dog running near First and Columbia. The area was checked and no dog was located.

April 19

09:29 — A complainant advised his vehicle was prowled and his wallet along with several other items were taken out of his car and trunk. He received a fraud alert from his bank and the card was deactivated. The investigation is ongoing.

April 20

02:06 — Report from a citizen that the doors to a local gas station mini-mart were partly open and the business was closed. Responding officer determined it appeared part of the dead bolt system may not have been completely locked upon closing. Responsible person was requested to secure the doors and a request was made for the security video to be reviewed to determine if there was an attempted burglary or just employee error upon closing.
