The Lind-Ritzville defense swarms a Jenkins player in a 49-43 win.

SPOKANE VALLEY - If the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague boys basketball team is going to advance to the regional tournament, it is going to have to do so through the consolation bracket of the district tournament at West Valley High School in Spokane.

The Broncos fell to St. George's 61-42 in the semi-finals of the Northeast 2B district tournament on Tuesday.

"We hung in the first half and if we could have shot a little better and finished some makeable shots we could of had a halftime lead," head coach Dustin Arlt said. "We never found our shot in the second half and they slowly pulled away."

Drew Kelly led the Broncos with 12 points.

Nick Watkins scored 23 points for the Dragons while Nick Henning added nine points.

The boys will now join the consolation bracket. They will take on Kettle Falls on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the semi-finals of that bracket. The winner will move on to the third-place match and a guaranteed berth in the regional tournament. The losing team's season will come in an end.

"It is time to move on and focus on playing well against Kettle Falls and earn a spot into regionals," Arlt said. "We have a great opportunity on Thursday to extend a great season and need to come ready to play our best."

The Broncos made it to the semi-finals by beating Jenkins (Chewelah) last week, 49-43.
