Broncos say goodbye to seniors

RITZVILLE - The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague boys and girls basketball teams said goodbye to their seniors on Tuesday.

The girls team honored varsity players Brinley Moore and Eliza Galbreath.

"Both of them are four-year players here," girls head coach Steve Wellsandt said. "Brinley worked her way up through the JV and has done a good job ... She understands what we need to do defensively. And all season long she has been a good outside shooter ... Eliza is a four-year starter. She started as a freshman. She has played a lot of minutes here and has been a really good contributor."

Wellsandt says he's sad to see both players go. "We'll miss their competitiveness." Wellsandt said. "They are always there working. Yes, there are kids who can replace them, like there always is, but we'll miss them."

The boys squad said goodbye to Austin Thompson, Clayton Miller, Spencer Gering and Cole Cameron.

"Austin and Spencer played here for four years," boys head coach Dustan Arlt said. "Austin started for three years and Spencer has for two. Spencer is one of the great character kids I have worked with. He wants to win. And so does Austin ... Cole may be the hardest working kid I've ever had. He gets every inch out of his body ... Clayton stuck with the program for four years.

"He didn't play as much when he was younger, but I'm glad he stuck with it."
