LRS basketball teams win league openers in comfortable fashion

Girls basketball

The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague girls basketball team improved to 3-1 Tuesday with a 64-21 home victory against Upper Columbia Academy. Eliza Galbreath paced the Lady Broncos with 13 points while Julia Klein and Dakota Killian added 11 points apiece.

The Lady Broncos had a balanced attack that saw all eight of the core varsity players score.

LRS head coach Steve Wellsandt was pleased with how his team played defense against UCA. Wellsandt preaches defense and said the team has a goal of holding opponents to under 40 points a game. LRS held UCA to five points in the third quarter.
