Witnesses sought in multi-vehicle collision involving Adams County resident

An Adams County resident was injured in a multi-vehicle collision in the early morning of Nov. 14 that has the Washington State Patrol seeking witnesses to the collision.

Othello’s Blanca Garza, 50, was travelling northbound in a 2019 Ford Expedition on State Route 17 at Lee Road, about two miles northeast of Othello, when a 2000 Subaru Forester driving southbound crossed the centerline, rotated and struck Garza’s vehicle at approximately 6:35 a.m.

The owner of the vehicle driving southbound, Skylar Martin of Sultan, WA, was transported to Othello Hospital and then airlifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane with serious injuries. Garza was also transported to Othello Hospital. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Following the initial press memo that was released, the WSP released another memo that said it was seeking witnesses to the collision. A third vehicle may have been involved in the collision, WSP said, however it fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival.

“WSP investigators are examining all aspects that led to this collision and are seeking additional witnesses to the collision, the events immediately before or after the collision, or the whereabouts of a third involved vehicle,” the memo said.

Anyone that has information is being asked to contact Trooper Brett Tolon at (509) 765-6175 or [email protected].
