Brief: Good Hope Lutheran Church to hold annual Okbtoberfest celebration

Lind’s Good Hope Lutheran Church will be holding its annual Oktoberfest celebration this Sunday, Oct. 20. The event will be located at the Lind Senior Center, at 117 North I St.

Sunday morning worship will be held at 9 a.m. at the senior center, and all are welcome to attend. Dinner is set to last from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and takeouts will be available for those unable to stay. Deliveries can be made within town limits.

Dinner will feature German smoked sausage, mashed potatoes and butter, sauerkraut, green beans, corn, applesauce and bread, complemented with a dessert. The price for adults is $9, and the price for children age 12 and under is $5. There is a price of $25 for a family of two adults and two children.

A drawing will also be held. The first prize will be a blanket made by Patti Bischoff, the second prize will be a $100 gift certificate for Jim’s Market, and the third prize will be 10 pounds of German sausage. Tickets are available from any member of the congregation, or at the door on the day of the event.

Everyone in the congregation is involved with the Oktoberfest celebration in some capacity, from setting up, to serving, to cleaning up afterward.
