The Washington State Patrol’s recent inspection of the Lind-Ritzville Schools’ buses went so well that the state superintendent took notice.
Chris Reykdal, the state of Washington’s superintendent of public education, and John Batiste, chief of the Washington State Patrol, sent LRS Superintendent Don Vanderholm a letter of commendation for two straight years of “outstanding results.”
“We congratulate you, your administration, and the staff of your transportation cooperative for these outstanding school bus inspection results,” Reykdal and Batiste wrote in the story. “We look forward to your continued support of student transportation safety.”
Vanderholm told The Journal that Lynn Sackman, the transportation supervisor for LRS, is largely responsible for the positive results.
