Brief: Open burning season now closed

Open burning within Adams County and the city limits of Ritzville closed at dusk on June 10, according to municipal and Adams County officials.

No open fires for the burning of vegetation or other matter are permitted in town or in rural areas Agricultural burns with permits and backyard recreational fires are still allowed. Burning season remains closed until the fall.

The chiefs also remind citizens that as drying conditions become more severe to take extra care with barbecues, cigarettes and, as the Fourth of July approaches, fireworks.
