Gavilon Grain assets acquired by Columbia Grain, office will remain in Lind

In a news release on June 3, Columbia Grain International, LLC announced that it had acquired all grain handling assets of Lind’s Gavilon Grain Group, LLC.

The assets acquired by Columbia Grain includes 15 grain handling facilities in Ritzville, Moses Lake, Othello and Washtucna, as well as a certified-seed processing plant in Lind. The acquisition was effective on June 1. The transaction will link Columbia Grain’s existing grain elevators in Whitman County with facilities throughout Adams County.

The news release also clarified that all operations and personnel will continue, on an uninterrupted basis, serving the growers of the region. The office will remain in Lind, and all personnel will continue with Columbia Grain. Gerald Meehl will continue as the local manager and Lane Hannas will continue to provide marketing and seed services through the Lind office.

Columbia Grain is headquartered in Portland, and has a licensed warehouse storage capacity of over 60 million bushels and owns or operates 55 grain elevators.
