Ritzville Police Department Dispatch Reports: March 28, 2019

March 1, 08:47 — A complaint was received from Adult Protective Services reporting possible financial exploitation of an elderly adult. The case has previously been reported, investigated, and determined unfounded. A copy of the report was forwarded to APS.

March 1, 11:00 — A request for assistance was received from a subject for a lift assist. An officer responded and assisted lifting a subject into his wheel chair.

March 1, 11:48 — A complaint was received advising of hazardous conditions in front of a local business on Main Ave. An officer responded and checked the area finding a small amount of snow along the curb. The street and sidewalk were clear. The city crew was advised of the complaint.

March 1, 13:39 — An officer was requested to stand by to insure the peace while a subject dropped of some medication to his ex.

March 1, 17:31 — A request was received from a citizen to have an officer respond to his location near 8th Ave and Jefferson St. regarding a traffic accident that happened the night before. An officer responded and contacted the complainant who advised he wanted a collision report done but the accident took place the night before. The parties involved agreed to exchange information and be on their way; so no report was completed as the vehicle had been moved the night before.

March 2, 12:35 — A panic alarm was received by the dispatch center from a business on Galbreth Way. An officer responded and made contact with the manager who advised everything was fine; he had just been in the safe two minutes prior and must have accidently activated the alarm.

March 2, 12:56 — A call was received advising of suspicious circumstances near a business on Main Ave. An officer responded and contacted the complainant who showed him a Target shopping bag that contained pre-paid VISA card packaging totaling $6,600.00. There was no way of tracing the purchase location as there was no receipt. A number located on the packaging was called and only referred to automated options for activation of the cards. It is speculated they were part of some sort of a scam but the RPD had not received any additional calls.

March 2, 17:38 — A request for a citizen assist was received from a subject in Idaho regarding a subject doing construction on the Ritzville area. A description of his vehicle was provided along with a request for him to call home regarding a family matter, but he was not located. A call was received the next day advising he had been located and returned home.

March 3, 01:00 — The on duty officer received a request for assistance from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office in serving a search warrant. The officer responded and assisted as needed.
