Caring Neighbors donates over $10,000 to local area organizations

Caring Neighbors, the nonprofit entity established by Big Bend Electric Co-op, announced last week that their board recently donated over $10,000 to local area organizations.

Among the donations included a $330 donation to the Lind-Ritzville High School publications class to help them purchase yearbooks and a $2,000 donation to the Adams County Parks & Recreation District No. 4 to help purchase swim lessons and passes for low-income families at the Ritzville Water Park.

Other donations include a $1,500 donation to the Bi-County Little League, a $1,500 donation to the Connell Community Club to assist towards purchasing a community clock, a $2,500 donation to Mesa Elementary to help purchase standing desks, a $1,000 donation to the Othello Sandhill Crane Festival, a $750 donation to the City of Mesa to help purchase a park bench and a $1,000 donation to the Pasco Police Department to help people and families in need of emergency funds when displaced.

The funds for Caring Neighbors are donated by the members of Big Bend Electric Co-op. Applications to receive funding from Caring Neighbors are available on the Big Bend Electric website at http://www.bbec.org or by calling (509) 659-1700. To be eligible for funding, the organization that wishes to receive funding must have a 501(c)(3) IRS designation or be a municipal entity.
