Letter to the Editor: Sen. Patty Murray leads the charge

According to an article published by Breitbart on Feb. 4, “Nebraska Republican Sen. Ben Sasse introduced the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (S. 130) to protect babies who have survived failed abortions. Sasse went to the floor of the Senate Monday to ask his colleagues to pass the bill by unanimous consent, but Democrats objected.”

The article continues that, “Senate Democrats—led by Washington Sen. Patty Murray—blocked a bill that would require babies born alive during abortion to receive reasonable medical care and transport to a hospital.”

The article says that, “The Born-Alive Act states that Congress acknowledges an ‘infant’ born alive during a failed abortion ‘is a legal person for all purposes under the laws of the United States, and entitled to all the protections of such laws.’”

I wonder how many of the 1,859 citizens of Adams County that voted for Sen. Murray during the last election were prudent in researching Sen. Murray’s voting record, and took note as to what she voted for and opposed?

In my research, I have found extremely little action by Sen. Murray to improve the lives of Washingtonians; however, in her first few years in Washington D.C. she did work on behalf of the citizenry of Washington, but then fell deeply in line with “the swamp,” aligning herself working tirelessly to fulfill the agendas of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

It is difficult for me to imagine “anyone” who would believe the practice of abortion “up to the day of a child’s birth” as reasonable and/or moral. Representatives like Sen. Murray do not reflect the moral or ethical beliefs of millions of Americans. “I” cannot accept there are those who believe an infant that is viable outside the womb, be “appropriate” for “disposal.” This is simply despicable, amoral and anti-Christian.

It’s time for all good people to be calling and emailing Sen. Murray’s office(s). Now!

From,

Diane St. John, Ritzville
