Elena A. Sieverkropp

Elena A. Sieverkropp, age 88, died at home on Sunday, December 2, 2018. She was born October 1, 1930, to Joseph and Eleanora (Schmidke) Beckman in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The eighth of nine children, she and the family moved from Minnesota to a dairy farm in Wisconsin when she was a little girl. In 1946, the family moved to Othello, Washington where her father worked for the railroad. After moving back to Wisconsin briefly with the family, she and the family returned to Othello. As a teen and in her early twenties, she worked for families in Othello taking care of their children and cleaning houses.

In 1954, she met Eldred Sieverkropp in Othello and they were married on May 29, 1955 in Othello, Washington. The happy couple resided on a wheat farm west of Ritzville for 42 years and raised five children.

Elena enjoyed being outdoors on the farm, tending to the garden and flowerbeds, raising the five children, taking care of the farm animals and making wonderful homemade bread and meals for her family.

After her husband, Eldred, passed away in 2007, Elena moved to Ritzville to live with her eldest daughter, Cheryl. After residing in Ritzville with Cheryl for a number of years, Elena moved with her to Elk, Washington in 2015. There she lived the remainder of her life enjoying the beauty and peacefulness of the wooded countryside and the multitude of wildlife that would wander through.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a kind and gentle soul and had a very generous and good heart. She will be missed greatly by her family and those who knew her.
