Ritzville parade forms available at city hall, online

The Ritzville Community Parade is set for Saturday, Sept. 1, during Labor Day weekend in downtown Ritzville. Parade entry forms are available at the Ritzville City Hall office, located at 216 West Main Avenue, as well as online at http://visitritzville.com and clicking on the link “Parade Entry Form” on the right hand side of the page.

The Ritzville Area Chamber of Commerce are still accepting nominations for Grand Marshals through Aug. 16. Nomination forms can be picked up and returned to Ritzville City Hall.

This year’s Junior Parade theme is the 60’s. Participants are welcome to decorate bikes, have wagons or dress in their favorite outfit from the decade.

The Junior Parade will immediately precede the Ritzville Community Parade. Bystanders are encouraged to be set before 10:45 a.m., which is the expected start time of the Junior Parade. The Ritzville Community Parade will begin promptly at 11 a.m.

All participants must check-in on Sept. 1 at the American Legion Hall prior to the parade. Truck and float parking will be available at the corner of Broadway and Columbia streets, and Alder and Washington streets.

Floats, marching and drill teams, and car judging will begin at 9 a.m. on the day of the parade. Horse judging will occur at 9:30 a.m. Registration for the parade closes at 10 a.m.

For more information about the Ritzville Community Parade, or for an entry form, contact the chamber office in person, by phone at 659-1936, or by email at [email protected].
