Kelly Scott Kiesz

Kelly Scott Kiesz was born on March 22, 1964 and was raised on the family wheat farm in Washtucna, WA by his parents Wilmer and Darlene (Borgens) Kiesz. He passed away after a long battle with cancer in Richland, WA on July 26, 2018 at the age of 54.

Growing up, Kelly’s nickname was “Special K”, he was a Washtucna High School Student Body President and he loved his blue Camaro, bbq, playing basketball, raising steers for FFA and helping with the fieldwork.

After high school graduation in 1982 he attended the University Of Idaho before returning to the family farm for several years. In 1988 Kelly married Cathy Schaible of Ritzville and had three children, Zachary, Jordon and Amber. He also started his own Noxious Weed Spraying business.

After their divorce, Kelly moved to Richland where he worked for the Connell Grain Growers, and was a Journeyman Framer for many construction companies in the area.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents Gottlieb and Katherine (Amend) Kiesz and Dan and Marie (Kiehn) Borgens, and infant brother Corey Kiesz.

Kelly is survived by his children, Zachary Kiesz of Spokane, WA, Jordon (Alyssa) Kiesz of Moses Lake, WA, and Amber (Travis) Whitehill of Deer Park, WA, his step mother Pat Kiesz of Burbank, WA, his ex-wife Cathy (Paul) Goude of Hooper, WA, his sister Janell (David) Heinemann of Medical Lake, WA, his niece April Myers of Houston, TX, his great nieces Lexi Miles of Springfield, MO and Tessa Kiesz of Houston, TX, and many good Richland friends and the AA community.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday August 11, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Nazarene Church of Ritzville, 108 West Fourth Street.
