Voter registration closes July 9 for Primary Election

The last date to for voters to register online, through the mail, transfer or update an existing registration for the Primary Election is July 9.

First time voters can register in person until 4:30 p.m. July 28, at the Adams County Auditor’s Office, 210 West Broadway Avenue in Ritzville.

Adams County is a vote by mail county. A ballot will be mailed to each active registered voter in Adams County July 18-20.

Voters who require a replacement ballot or need additional voting assistance are asked to contact the Adams County Auditor’s Office at 659-3249.

The Aug. 7 Primary Election ballot includes two federal office positions. The U.S. Senator six-year term, and the U.S. Representative two-year term will both appear on the ballot.

Two Legislative District 9 State Representative positions, each for a two-year term, will be on the ballot.

In county offices, all positions are for four-year terms. The positions are Assessor, Auditor, Clerk, County Commissioner District 3, Prosecutor, Sheriff and Treasurer.

There is also a two-year Ritzville Rural Southeast Precinct Committee Officer position appearing on the ballot.

There are two local Maintenance and Operations (M&O) levies for Park and Recreation Districts appearing on the Aug. 7 ballot.

The Adams County Park and Recreation District No. 3 in Lind submitted an M&O levy for $65,000 for the Lind Swimming Pool for the year 2019.

The Adams County Park and Recreation District No. 4 in Ritzville placed a $130,000 for the Ritzville Water Park in 2019.
