Burning season ends June 14

Open burning within Adams County and the city limits of Ritzville will close at dusk on Thursday, June 14, according to Adams County Fire Protection District No. 1 Chief Scott Kembel, Ritzville Fire Chief Joel Bell, Washtucna Acting Fire Chief Byron Allen and Lind Fire Chief Kevin Starring.

No open fires for the burning of vegetation or other matter are permitted in town or in rural areas. Agricultural burns with permits and backyard recreational fires are still allowed. Burning season remains closed until the fall.
