Broncos golf season ends at Districts

The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos golf team finished their season in postseason.

The Broncos competed at the Sub-District Tournament on May 7 at Deer Park.

Morgan Brausen led the Broncos with a season best 84 to finish 16th overall and Dirk Dahlman came in 22nd after hitting 94. Both Brausen and Dahlman advanced to the May 14 District Tournament.

Spencer Gering missed qualifying for Districts after he finished with 101.

On the girls’ side, Ellie Gering tied for 18th overall after she hit 106, which qualified her for Districts.

At the District Tournament, Dahlman finished with 93 and did not qualify for the State Tournament.

Ellie Gering’s score and placing was not available as of press time. She was selected for the All-League Team.

Head Coach Nick Weishaar said he felt the season went well for the team. He noted this year’s Broncos squad was a young team and he was happy with how each athlete improved over the season.

The Broncos will not be losing any athletes to graduation and Weishaar is optimistic for next season.

He is looking forward to seeing how the athletes improve during the offseason, with the hopes of them qualifying for next year’s State Tournament.
