Bernice Mable Dellinger-Kanzler

Bernice Mable Dellinger-Kanzler (81) moved on to her heavenly home, joining her husband, Ken on April 28, 2018, in Moses Lake surrounded by family.

Bernice was born on February 10, 1937, in Yakima, Washington, to LeRoy and Mabel Dellinger. Bernice married Kenneth Kanzler on September 6, 1957 in Lind, Washington and went to live on a farm near Connell, Washington.

A few years later they moved to Lind where they lived for 60 years until 2017 when Bernice was placed in a care facility in Moses Lake, Washington.

Bernice had many passions. One was crocheting and one was playing the piano.

Bernice self-taught herself the piano at the age of 15 and has played the piano all her life. Practicing 2-4 hours every day, you could hear her play for every Lind Calvary church service, many school functions, weddings and local holiday specials.

Bernice also was known for her cake decorating. Practically, anyone growing up in Lind or Ritzville has had one of her cakes, whether it was for a birthday, graduation, wedding, anniversary or a special occasion.

Bernice also loved to work in her flower garden.

Bernice’s flair for life is witnessed every day by the people she left behind.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents LeRoy and Mabel Dellinger, her sister, Juanita Knowlton and her husband Kenneth Kanzler. She is survived by a sister, Roberta Teeter of Sacramento, CA, three children; Lee Kanzler of Lind, WA, David Kanzler of Sprague, WA and Colleen Jorgensen of Coto de Caza, CA and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lind Calvary Assembly of God. All donations can be given to the Kenneth and Bernice Kanzler Memorial Building Fund at the Lind Calvary Assembly of God Church.
