Tree Board seeking donations, volunteers

The Ritzville Tree Board is seeking monetary donations and volunteers to help with the First Avenue beautification project.

The goal of the project is to install landscaping and trees along First Avenue to make it more attractive to residents, and visitors.

The First Avenue project will be divided into phases. Some of the work in the first phase will include improving the Ritzville railway and welcome sign, and planting trees and grass around it.

Across the street at Napa Auto Parts, crews will install sign displaying “Ritzville” in LED lights, and landscape will be installed around the base of the sign poles and the information kiosk.

The Tree Board has already received donations from the Hennings Foundation, Caring Neighbors and the City.

For more information about donating and volunteer opportunities, or the project itself, contact Mike Schrag at City Hall at 659-1930.
