The Lind Senior Center member met recently to elect new officers for the upcoming year.

Myra Horton was re-elected as president, and Joe Holland was re-elected as vice president. Beverly Lomax will serve as secretary and Evelyn Braden as treasurer.

The board members also include Cherly Aby, Carla Bengtson and Phyllis Hall.

The discussion centered around the lack of attendance at meals, which are available four days a week at noon.

Meal dates are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and it costs $4 for seniors.

The community is reminded that anyone can come and enjoy a meal for the cost of $6.25.

Take-out and home delivery within the city limits is available for seniors, at the cost of $4.50.

Operating the meal program depends on participation, and it is more economical to cook for a larger group.

Patrons must call 677-3620 by 9:30 a.m. to reserve a meal in order to help with planning and cooking of the day’s meal.

The Lind Senior Center and its meal program have been a part of the Lind community for over 20 years.

The board members stated they have received comments about the meals being available for those in need.

The lack of participation makes the future of the program uncertain, and the board is asking the community to highly consider becoming a member of the lunch group.

Membership dues are $20, and all contributions are appreciated.

There are aids available to assist those with physical limitations.

The Lind Senior Center is also available to rent for special events, and there is also a small library available to the public.

For more information, call 677-3620.
