TOKEN OF APPRECIATION. Washtucna Social Studies teacher Michael Dorman holds the flag the school received from 4th Expeditionary Special Operations Squadron. Dorman and fellow teacher Janet Camp (not pictured) spearheaded a school wide campaign where teachers and students created care packages for soldiers stationed overseas in October and around the Christmas holiday. The school received a letter from Lt. Col. Krystal Sessions, who thanked the school for the care package. As a token of appreciation, Sessions framed the flag and sent it to the school. The flag was flown on an AC-130U Spooky gunship on a combat mission over Afghanistan on Nov. 24, 2017. -Journal photo by Al Stover
