2017 filing period opens in May

The Adams County Auditor’s Office will be accepting filings for local offices beginning Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19. In Adams County, there are 92 offices open for filing.

Of those offices, the local positions include the Adams County Clerk and two Hospital District No. 2 commissioners. The Washtucna School District has four director positions open for filing, while the Benge School District has five director roles open for filing.

The Lind School District and the Ritzville School District each have three director positions open for filing.

The Town of Lind has four council positions open for filing, as well as the mayor position. The City of Ritzville has four council positions open for filing.

The Town of Washtucna has four council positions that will be open for filing.

The Fire District No. 1 Commissioner No. 2 position is open for filing, as well as three Commissioner positions for Fire District No. 2 and one from Fire District No. 6 and No. 7.

In Lind, the Park and Recreation No. 3 has four commissioner positions available. Ritzville Park and Recreation District No. 4 has two commissioner positions open, and Washtucna Park and Recreation No. 2 has three positions open.

The Cemetery District No. 1 has one commissioner position available for filing, and the Cemetery District No. 3 has two open positions.

The list of open positions, terms and applicable filing fees will also be available online at http://www.co.adams.wa.us. To access the list select “Elections” on the menu at the right side of the Adams County website.

Filing fees are collected at the time of filing and are non-refundable.

Filings will be accepted daily during filing week from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Adams County Auditor’s Office. The Auditor’s Office is located at 210 West Broadway Avenue, Suite 200, in Ritzville.

Filings are also accepted online at http://www.co.adams.wa.us beginning at 8:30 a.m. on May 15 and remain open continuously until 4 p.m. on May 19.

Online submissions of Declarations of Candidacy must be completed no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, May 19. The Adams County Auditor’s Office will accept in person filings until 4:30 p.m. on May 19.
