City dedicates Sprenger Memorial

Ritzville City Park is the host of the newest memorial within the city, and an official dedication ceremony on July 8 recognized the Sprenger family for their donation and involvement with the memorial.

Affectionately deemed the Sprenger Memorial in honor of Ernie and Thelma Sprenger, the memorial consists of three pillars and a flagpole, which is illuminated at night.

The project began two years ago with the intent of planting a tree in honor of the Sprengers. Instead, Tree Board President Mike Schrag worked tirelessly to honor the couple and establish a memorial in their memory.
