Dec. 21, 10:18 a.m. – A complainant reported the door on a building at East Presnel Road in Lind was open. Deputy Jeff Lane checked the building. It was thought wind had blown the door open and the owner of the building would check the building and report if anything was missing.

Dec. 22, 3:19 a.m. –

Deputy Hunter Klewin assisted the Ritzville City Police Department with a 911 hang up and open on Main Avenue.

Dec. 22, 3:58 a.m. – Deputy Klewin arrested a subject on Weber Road for burglary.

Dec. 23, 6:26 a.m. – A complainant on Batum Road near Ritzville advised of a suspicious vehicle. Deputy Ned Bernath and Sheriff John Hunt checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Dec. 23, 9:21 a.m. – A Lind complainant advised of four subjects that did not appear to be from the area and were acting suspicous. They reported one of the subjects tried to open a car door. Deputy Bernath and Sergeant Ben Buriak responded to the area and contacted several Lind residents.

Dec. 23, 1:20 p.m. – Washington State Patrol advised of a suicidal person possibly in the Lind area. Deputy Bernath checked the area and was advised the subject was believed to be on I-90 near Sprague and notified WSP units.

Dec. 23, 2:29 p.m. – A complainant advised of a suspicious vehicle on parked near a location on Smart Road in Lind. Deputy Bernath located the vehicle, which was owned by the property owner and has been parked at that location for some time.

Dec. 24, 9:06 a.m. – A complainant on Schrag Road advised of a suspicious person parked near their mailbox.

Dec. 25, 10:18 p.m. – A Washtucna complainant advised of an accidental self inflicted gunshot wound.

Dec. 26, 9:41 p.m – Deputy Lane assisted the WSP in contacting a disabled vehicle on I-90 near Sprague.

Dec. 27, 7:27 p.m. – A complainant advised of a suicidal subject in Lind. Deputy Lane contacted the subject who reported they were feeling suicidal. The subject was transported to East Adams Rural Healthcare and was turned over to mental health.

Dec. 27, 7:27 p.m. –

Rivercom Dispatch in Wenatchee advised Deputy Lane of a possible suicide subject in Ritzville.

Dec. 28, 12:24 a.m. – A Lind complainant reported their dog as stolen. Deputy Lane responded and after investigation the dog was found to have run off and was recovered.

Dec. 28, 11:23 a.m. – Deputy Bernath responded to a report of an alarm on North I Street in Lind. He contacted the subjects at the location who were children of the property owner but did not know how to turn the alarm off. While he was there the subjects were able to contact a family member and shut off the alarm.

Dec. 29, 2:45 a.m. – A complainant on North Sinclair in Lind advised of sounds like wood banging in the area. Deputy Lane checked the area and stayed for a while but was unable to locate any source for the noise.

Dec. 29, 3:42 a.m. – Dispatch advised Deputy Karsten Garcia of a suspicious call on Bronson Street in Hatton. Garcia arrived at the location and determined it was the wind causing noises around the residence. Garcia advised the complainant to call if they see anything.

Dec. 29. 9:37 a.m. – Deputy Klewin cited a driver on Highway 21 near Lind for Driving With License Suspended (DWLS) 3.

Dec. 29, 20:31 p.m. – Deputy Lane assisted the RPD with an open door at a residence on Adams Street.

Dec. 30, 11:48 a.m. – A Wyoming complainant was told by friends there had been a theft on her property in Washtucna. Deputy Klewin investigated but did not find evidence of a crime.

Dec. 30, 5:05 p.m. – A Lind complainant advised of a verbal domestic on East Fifth Street.

Dec. 30, 11:58 p.m. –Deputy Lane investigated an alarm on Exposition Avenue in Washtucna. There were no signs of entry but the front screen was open. The homeowner reported they would check the residence when they return.

Dec. 31, 10:15 p.m. – A Lind complainant advised the covering on the window above a door on South First Street had been taken or knocked down. Deputy Bernath investigated the area and found that a pigeon had hit the painted glass and cracked the paint off of the window. The light cover appeared to have been missing for some time.

Dec. 31, 11:31 p.m. –

A complainant advised subjects were stealing the 233 milepost on I-90. Deputy Bernath arrived and observed a memorial, flowers and ribbons had been set up at the base of the milepost.

Jan. 1, 8:51 p.m. – While on patrol Sergeant Brian Taylor noticed a small fire approximately one quarter mile west of the Lind-Hatton road near Lind. He contacted the subjects who reported they were cleaning the property and had started the fire earlier in the day. They advised they would monitor the fire until it had burned out.

Jan. 2, 1:02 p.m.- While on patrol Deputy Klewin stopped a subject for speeding on Highway 21 near Lind. The driver was cited for DWLS 3.

Jan. 3, 6:24 a.m.- A Ritzville complainant advised of a vehicle in the ditch on West First Avenue. The vehicle was partially blocking part of First Avenue. Pete’s Towing arrived to remove the vehicle.

Jan. 3, 7:05 p.m.- A complainant on Spokane Avenue in Washtucna reported they were being harassed. Deputy Lane responded and contacted the subject and advised them not to contact the complainant. The subject advised they would call at a later date to retrieve tires from the residence.

Jan. 3, 10:14 p.m.- A complainant on St. Claire Avenue in Lind reported subjects knocking on his door and then running off. Deputy Lane checked the area and located no one. He remained in the area and no further calls were received of the same behavior.
