March 15, 9:09 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of hearing and feeling an explosion coming from East Sixth Street. It was determined to be a neighbor throwing a firecracker at the complainant’s dogs. The neighbor was advised not to throw any more firecrackers, and to contact the Town or the Sheriff’s Office for further assistance. The dog owner was advised to control the animals.

March 15, 4:05 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of hearing rifle shots coming from South St. Claire Avenue. Sergeant Ben Buriak responded and contacted the subjects who advised a single 12 gauge shotgun had been fired several times in a safe direction at a target on the property. Buriak advised the subjects that even though they were shooting in the country, they needed to find another place so as not to disturb nearby residences.

March 15, 2:19 p.m. –

Ritzville complainant contacted Ritzville Officer Tom Gracie in reference to donkeys looking malnourished and had sores around their necks behind the local fairgrounds. Sergeant Buriak checked the donkeys and there were no sores around their necks and they appeared to be in good health.

March 15, 12:41 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a horse in the roadway on West Schoessler Road. Upon Sergeant Buriak’s arrival, the horses had been contained and the owner was advised to keep horses off the roadway.

March 15, 12:10 p.m. – Odessa complainant advised he might have purchased a stolen cell phone. Sergeant Buriak made contact with the complainant who advised he had purchased the cell phone in Post Falls, Idaho. Buriak advised the complainant to contact Post Falls Police Department regarding the issue.

March 15, 11:58 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a subject riding a dirt bike in the Love’s parking lot and refusing to leave. Prior to Sergeant Buriak’s arrival, the subject had left, but was later located at Circle K. The subject advised he had test drove the bike before purchasing it in the parking lot, but had loaded up the bike and left when asked. Buriak advised the complainant of the details.

March 14, 5:52 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of her husband breaking into the house. Deputy Jeffrey Lane responded. No assault had occurred, only a verbal disagreement.

March 13, 2:46 p.m. – The Town of Lind advised of work being completed at East Highway 21 and North Jantz Road over the weekend.

March 13, 11:14 a.m. – Lamont complainant advised of hearing second hand about a horse in a small pen standing in high mud on West First Street in Lind. Deputy Karstan Garcia and Deputy Ned Bernath checked the horse and observed that while the pen was small and the ground muddy, the horse could move freely.

March 12, 11:16 a.m. – Lind complainant contacted Deputy Bernath while he was on a theft call that they believed the complainant’s company had also been a victim of theft. After completing the initial report, Bernath contacted the complainant and learned a theft had taken place at North Florenz.

March 12, 9:32 a.m. – Lind complainant advised of fuel being stolen from his business on West First Street. A-11 and Deputy Bernath arrived and processed the scene.

March 12, 1:23 a.m. – Jamestown, ND, complainant advised his wallet was stolen from his semi while he was sleeping at the Schrag rest area. Deputy Lane responded.

March 11, 11:47 p.m. – Lind complainant requested additional patrols at West Second Street and stated that her ex-husband was drinking and said he was coming to her house. Deputy Lane remained in the area until called away, and no further calls were received.

March 11, 9:22 a.m. –

Superior Court requested standby to ensure the peace. Deputy Garcia and Deputy Bernath stood by during the hearing and cleared without incident.

March 10, 8:07 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of a student staying on St. Claire Avenue while the mother was out of town and had been seen leaving the home, smoking a cigarette. Deputy Lane contacted the residence and asked for the mother to make contact.

March 10, 5:02 p.m. – Lind complainant of a theft that occurred during the day at one of his properties. Deputy Bernath responded.

March 10, 2:19 p.m. –

Kennewick complainant advised of finding an iPhone on the shoulder of Weber Road. Sergeant Buriak made phone contact with the complainant who advised the phone had been lying on the shoulder of the road for some time and it had a charge, but was password protected. The complainant was advised to contact local authorities to see if they could unlock the phone.

March 10, 1:33 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of students doing damage at the school and knew which students had been involved. Sergeant Buriak made contact with the complainant and two juvenile subjects regarding the property damage. An exterior bell at the school was broken, and Buriak learned who had previously damaged the weight room. The juveniles were interviewed and admitted to the damage.

March 10, 8:08 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of several locations being egged in the Town of Lind overnight. Deputy Bernath contacted the complainants after the eggs had been cleaned off the property. There are no suspects at this time.

March 9, 9:02 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a vehicle in the ditch on East Danekas Road. Deputy Lane responded.

March 9, 9:03 p.m. – Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office advised of a suicidal subject firing two rounds into the air before leaving the house and getting into a vehicle with at least four guns. The subject was located in Adams County and turned over to Lincoln County.

March 8, 1:21 p.m. –

Washtucna complainant advised his son had advised him a subject in a white van had attempted to lure him into a vehicle the day before at the school. Sergeant Buriak contacted the complainants and juvenile at the residence, and after the interview, the juvenile admitted it was a lie. The parents advised Buriak that they would handle the matter with their son.

March 9, 1:43 a.m. – East Wenatchee advised of an erratically driven vehicle from the freeway onto North Highway 261. Deputy Lane made contact and the driver was not impaired, but the vehicle had a donut tire and several mechanical issues.

March 8, 5:09 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of being pushed on East Fifth Street. Deputy Lane responded.

March 8, 11:02 a.m. – Lind complainant advised of a red pickup with a canopy parked at the Lind sewage plant. The complainant believed the subject was trying to locate a dog and believed it was a city worker. Sergeant Buriak contacted the subject who advised he was looking for his dog and was a city worker.

March 7, 6:08 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of vandalism at the Lind School weight room. Deputy Lane responded.

March 7, 10:51 a.m. –

Ritzville complainant advised via the phone her ex-husband was coming to town and was going to take their child. The complainant advised the subject does not have a safe living environment for children. Deputy Hunter Klewin advised the complainant to refer to the parenting plan and contact an attorney. Upon realizing the complainant resided within Ritzville, Klewin contacted Ritzville Police Chief David McCormick and advised him of the situation.

March 7, 9:45 a.m. – Kennewick complainant advised of locking their keys in their vehicle on North Highway 261. Deputy Klewin attempted to unlock the vehicle, but without success. A list of local tow companies was provided for the complainant.

March 6, 6 p.m. – Lind complainant reported a vehicle prowl that had occurred the previous night on West Third Street. The complainant did not request personal contact, as it appeared nothing had been taken.

March 6, 3:47 p.m. – Dispatch was advised of an alarm on North Wahl Road. While Deputy Bernath was en route, dispatch advised the homeowner had called and all was fine. Bernath contacted the residence and spoke with the homeowner and no problems were located.

March 6, 1:13 p.m. –

Dispatch advised of a citizen assist in Washtucna. The subject called 911, was breathing heavily and appeared distraught when he reported his dog was missing. While Deputy Klewin was en route to the call, EMS arrived on the scene and requested law enforcement at the scene. Upon Klewin’s arrival at the scene, the subject was hostile and refused treatment. After the subject refused treatment, no law enforcement presence was needed.

March 6, 9:34 a.m. – While on patrol on Weber Road, Deputy Klewin noticed the road was washed out and there was a severe drop off. Public Works was notified of the situation and later advised that location becomes a private lane.

March 5, 9:53 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a suspicious pickup at East Weber Road, near Legacy. Deputy Roy Montalvo was out of position at the time of call and while in en route learned the vehicle had been seen at Carl’s Jr. and Ritzville Police Department had made contact with the vehicle. The officer knew one of the subjects in the vehicle and both were employed by Legacy and advised they were putting a lock on one of the gates.

March 5, 8:14 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised her 16-year-old daughter was at her ex-husbands with her siblings and called to say there was stuff going on that was making her uncomfortable. The complainant advised she was going to pick up the children and wanted to call and give the information, as things could get violent when her ex-husband returned home.

March 5, 4:10 p.m. –

Ritzville complainant advised of a male subject running through a field on North Bauman Road. The complainant advised it appeared he was running something. With assistance from Chief McCormick, Deputy Bernath located the subject at the train terminal and he advised he was in a disagreement with a female subject and was running because he was in trouble. Bernath transported the subject to the Sheriff’s Office lobby so he could stay warm and wait to be contacted by Ritzville Police Department.

March 5, 10:39 a.m. – Lind complainant requested a hulk vehicle form. Dispatch checked the VIN numbers and no legal owner was located. Deputy Klewin advised the complainant would be mailed a form.

March 4, 10:08 p.m. – Hatton complainant reported a suspicious odor in the area. Deputy Garcia completed a patrol near the area and no abnormal odors were detected.

March 4, 9:51 a.m. – Lind complainant contacted Deputy Bernath by phone and advised there was damage to a sign near his farm on West Franz Road. Bernath arrived and observed it appeared the sign had been hit by a vehicle and bent back. The complainant believed it had occurred on Feb. 28, but had not seen anyone suspicious in the area. Bernath took photos of the damage and the complainant advised he would call when he had an estimate on the repairs.

March 3, 10:27 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of three vehicles parked at the end of the complainant’s driveway on North Wahl Road. Sergeant Buriak checked the area and did not locate them. The complainant advised they had left prior to his arrival.

March 3, 6:26 p.m. – Ritzville complainant called regarding tags missing on her vehicle, but the registration was still valid through May. Sergeant Buriak contacted the complainant and explained she needed to get new tabs for the vehicle.

March 3, 5:22 p.m. – Lind complainant requested contact regarding her landlord threatening to burn the rental house down with the complainant’s personal belongings inside. Sergeant Buriak contacted the complainant who advised she didn’t fear the house would be burnt down, but wanted to document the incident. Buriak contacted the out of county landlord and advised they needed to go through the eviction process and not make inflaming statements.

March 3, 11:49 a.m. –

Washtucna complainant advised of a collapsed horse in Lind. Deputy Klewin contacted the owner who was not aware the horse had died and advised the horse would be disposed of properly. Klewin checked the other horses, which appeared healthy and without any indication of abuse or neglect.

March 3, 6:56 a.m. – Lind complainant advised of cows in the roadway on North Johnson Road. Upon arrival, Deputy Bernath noted the cows had been placed back within the fenced area.

March 2, 4:18 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a small passenger vehicle unattended and blocking the roadway at East Weber Road. Sergeant Buriak contacted the owner and learned the car had a dead battery and the son was in the process of getting it fixed. The battery was replaced and the vehicle moved from the roadway.

March 1, 10:06 p.m. – Deputy Lane provided agency assistance to Franklin County at North Plager Road.

March 1, 9:18 p.m. –

Lind complainant stated his father had chased off a car from the area. The complainant believed it was his neighbor who he suspects has been stealing things from him. Deputy Lane responded.

March 1, 9:15 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of theft of wire and scrap metal sometime between Feb. 26 and March 1. There are no suspects.

March 1, 8:27 p.m. –

Washington State Patrol advised of a female pedestrian that was possibly involved in domestic violence with someone in a blue passenger car on I-90. WSP Trooper Carmen Harrington and Deputy Lane checked the area and were unable to locate the vehicle.

March 1, 6:03 p.m. –

Ritzville complainant reported two children in a vehicle that were reported by a passerby to be in distress on North Highway 261. Deputy Lane contacted the vehicle and learned the mother and children were waiting for a family member.

March 1, 10:37 a.m. – Odessa complainant advised of a downed stop sign at East Snowden and North Highway 261. Sergeant Buriak contacted the Department of Transportation who later fixed the sign.
