Feb. 18, 10:27 p.m. – An Atlanta, Georgia, based security company advised of a pickup that had run off the roadway at North Paha-Packard Road. Sergeant Ben Buriak arrived at the scene and learned the vehicle was parked on the shoulder of the road, but had sunk in the mud up to the axles. Buriak was advised a tow was already in route and no damage was observed to the vehicle.

Feb. 18, 11:17 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a section of carpet in the roadway on East Danekas and Schoessler roads. The carpet had been removed prior to Deputy Ned Bernath’s arrival.

Feb. 17, 8:08 a.m. – Hatton complainant requested additional patrols in reference to dogs continually barking in the area.

Feb. 18, 7:44 a.m. – Lind complainant advised of a juvenile problem with her son not wanting to go to school. The complainant later advised the juvenile’s father had been contacted and would be coming from Spokane to pick him up.

Feb. 17, 9:17 p.m. –

Ritzville complainant advised of a possible DUI, for a vehicle with lane travel and tailgating. The vehicle was seen traveling south on 261. Sergeant Buriak was advised of the possible DUI, but was out of position to respond. WSP was given the information.

Feb. 17, 4:01 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised during the night, someone had entered their property and took several items. Deputy Bernath arrived on the scene and spoke with the complainant before processing the scene. The complainant advised contact would be made the following day to supply Bernath with a list of missing items.

Feb. 17, 11:37 a.m. – Deputy Bernath requested a law incident (LI) for found property of a purse on Highway 261. Bernath advised the subject returned and retrieved the purse after he requested the law incident.

Feb. 17, 9:22 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised his wife noticed a door open to their vehicle and another door was slightly open at East Schoessler Road. Complainant advised Deputy Bernath nothing appeared to be disturbed, but wanted the incident noted.

Feb. 17, 1:17 a.m. – Sergeant Brian Taylor located a reported stolen vehicle from Ritzville on southbound State Route 395. The vehicle was released to the owner but the car would not start. The vehicle remained along the roadway and WSP was notified.

Feb. 15, 7:20 p.m. –

Jacksonville, Flor., complainant advised of an open door on East Schoessler Road in Ritzville that was locked but moving in the wind. Deputy Jeffrey Lane checked and all was fine and the door properly secured.

Feb. 15, 12:31 a.m. – Lind complaint advised of a domestic in progress at West Fifth Street with the female being the primary aggressor. Deputy Andrew Boothman arrested the female subject for assault 4 and malicious mischief third degree.

Feb. 14, 8:31 p.m. – The Adams County Sheriff’s Office in Othello advised of a subject with warrants living at East Third Street in Lind. Deputy Boothman made contact with the residence and the subject was taken into custody on two Adams County warrants. The subject was booked into the Adams County Jail.

Feb. 14, 7:42 p.m. – Deputy Boothman located a vehicle with damage to the drive side front and a broken window on Highway 21 and Jantz Road. Contact was attempted by phone, but the number was disconnected. It was later learned the same vehicle had been located and ran by Deputy Roy Montalvo on Feb. 13.

Feb. 13, 7:07 p.m. –

Ritzville complainant requested contact regarding text threats received on her cell phone. Deputy Montalvo met with the complainant and was advised her daughter’s male friend had sent several threatening texts. Montalvo read a few texts a determined they were vague, but the complainant perceived them to be a threat to her safety and wanted the incident documented. The complainant was advised to contact the courts for a protection order.

Feb. 13, 2:59 p.m. – Superior Court requested assistance with a juvenile on the third floor of the courthouse. Deputy Bernath arrived and assisted juvenile officers restrain the resistive and struggling juvenile. After the subject was restrained, the juvenile officers advised the subject would be transported to Martin Hall.

Feb. 13, 1:09 p.m. – Pasco complainant advised subjects at an adjacent property in Hatton were stealing electricity by running an extension cord between the properties. Deputy Brad Zook arrived and did not locate a cord. Zook contacted the complainant by phone who advised he would turn off power to the outside outlets.

Feb. 13, 11:35 a.m. – Rosalia complainant advised a driver for their company advised he was going to stop for a while on Highway 26 because he was not feeling well. The complainant advised they had been unable to contact him and were concerned about his welfare. While en route, Deputy Bernath was advised by dispatch that the driver had gone to a hospital in Tri-Cities.

Feb. 13, 9:43 a.m. – Adams County Public Works advised of a traffic hazard on Roxboro Road. Deputy Bernath responded and learned a vehicle had driven through water that was across the road in the location and the vehicle had stalled. The subject at the location advised his brother had gone for help.

Feb. 13, 8 a.m. – Lind complainant advised of not seeing a washed out section of roadway while southbound on Lauer Road just north of Lee Road. Deputy Lane determined damage had been caused to the underside of the vehicle and had to be towed.

Feb. 13, 5:54 a.m. – Washtucna complainant advised of two subjects in and around the bus garage in Washtucna. They then were seen up the hill in the area of the church. Complainant advised he had contacted the subjects and they advised they were out walking. The complainant advised they left at a high rate of speed westbound on Highway 26. Deputy Bernath checked the area west of Washtucna before making contact with the complainant, and determining nothing had been disturbed.

Feb. 12, 10:31 a.m. –

While on patrol, Deputy Bernath observed copious amounts of water, gravel rock and ice flowing across the roadway on North Hills Road. Public Works was advised and said they will take care of the situation.

Feb. 11, 2:03 p.m. – The court requested security detail while a protection hearing was in session. Sergeant Ben Buriak stood by and ensured the peace.

Feb. 10, 11:41 a.m. – Complainant advised of a trucker not responding to his dispatcher’s calls and will not answer the door of his truck when knocked on at Highway 261. The ambulance crew arrived prior to Deputy Bernath’s arrival and made contact with the driver.

Feb. 10, 11:41 a.m. –

Washtucna complainant requested assistance with catching their dog so it can be taken to the vet to deal with its nerves. The dog was currently in the bathroom and bit a family member who had tried to pick him up. Deputy Bernath was advised upon arrival that a family member would pick up the dog and care for it.

Feb. 10, 9:54 a.m. – Sheriff’s Office requested an LI for registered sex offender address verification. Deputy Lane made contact with the subject and advised to complete process.

Feb. 7, 10:33 p.m. – Ritzville Police Department requested agency assistance with a trespassing report on East Tenth Avenue.

Feb. 7, 11:22 a.m. – Spokane Police Department requested assistance contacting a subject on North Rand Lane that was a potential witness in an incident in the Spokane jurisdiction. Deputy Bernath attempted contact at the listed residence and was advised the subject had moved.

Feb. 6, 9:33 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of a verbal domestic in progress on South Van Marter. The male half was intoxicated and agitated. Both parties had calmed down upon Sergeant Taylor’s arrival and the male subject had walked to a friend’s house for the night.

Feb. 6, 6:14 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a young, thin male Siberian husky on North Suko Road. Complainant called to ask if any dogs had been reported missing and advised she would contact the neighbors and then Adams County Pet Rescue.

Feb. 6, 4:08 p.m. –

Dispatch advised of a complainant reporting a large portion of a cell tower had broken and was now hanging from the tower. Deputy Bernath advised dispatch to contact the tower company.

Feb. 6, 9:55 a.m. – Lind complainant advised of a gray pickup with a new tractor blade in the bed of the pickup. Deputy Bernath responded and found the listed vehicle parked legally on private property.

Feb. 6, 1:56 a.m. –

Dispatch advised of a suspicious 911 call of a female crying and then disconnecting. While Deputy Boothman was searching, dispatch advised the caller had called back and advised her car was broken into on 395. Boothman located the unoccupied vehicle and WSP advised the subject had been transported to the hospital per her request.

Feb. 5, 8:58 p.m. – Ritzville Police Department requested agency assistance at East First Avenue. Deputy Boothman responded.

Feb. 5, 10:23 a.m. – Deputy Bernath was advised for a fight in the jail and responded.

Feb. 4, 8:53 p.m. – Deputy Lane located an abandoned vehicle parked on the shoulder of North Highway 21 and Weber Road. The owner was contacted who was en route to retrieve it. Flares were left to warn traffic. The owner was told to call when she retrieved the car.

Feb. 4, 2:35 p.m. – Spokane complainant advised of a subject sleeping in a lobby at Highway 261 since 6 a.m. who refused to leave. Deputy Bernath contacted the subject and the subject advised he was waiting for his father who was traveling from Idaho. Bernath advised the subject would have to wait elsewhere and the subject left the property. The subject was associated with a vehicle broken down in the parking lot and the subject advised he was going to leave it and it was all theirs.

Feb. 4, 12:52 p.m. – Washtucna complainant advised approximately four years ago, a subject worked on a Hover Round for her and her husband, but had not returned it. Deputy Bernath advised that because of the amount of time that has gone by, the issue would be better settled through a civil process.

Feb. 4, 11:53 a.m. – Othello complainant advised of a subject with restraining order walking on North Highway 261 while she was walking to the same location. The complainant advised she left the area without contact being made. Deputy Bernath advised there is currently a no contact order between the two.

Feb. 4, 9:00 a.m. – Eltopia complainant advised of a theft at North Highway 261. Deputy Bernath arrived on scene and observed where entrance was made into the property.

Feb. 3, 4 p.m. – Lind complainant called and requested information regarding WSP in town earlier that morning. Complainant was wondering if it had to do with a suspicious subject seen earlier and requested a call. Sergeant Buriak contacted the complainant and explained the Sheriff’s Office did not have any calls regarding a suspicious person in the area. The complainant advised the subject was now gone and was just curious.

Feb. 3, 3:03 p.m. – Washtucna complainant called requesting phone contact referencing vehicle ownership. Deputy Bernath made contact and the complainant was wondering how to get a vehicle out of her name that had been given to another subject. Bernath advised the complainant to contact the Department of Licensing.

Feb. 3, 2:02 p.m. –

Ritzville complainant advised of a brown four door compact car parked near East Urquhart Road, but was now southbound on Wahl Road. Deputy Bernath and Trooper Tyler Fryberger checked the area and notified local agencies about the vehicle.

Feb. 3, 11:38 a.m. – Davenport complainant advised of a brown four door compact car parked at East Seidl Road. The property owner advised the male subject in the vehicle spoke with a deep accent and left westbound. Deputy Bernath reported nothing had been stolen but checked the area and attempted contact with the complainant.

Feb. 2, 9:17 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of a subject violating a no contact order. Deputy Lane responded.

Feb. 2, 8:21 p.m. – Ritzville complainant reported a car of a patient who had been transported to Sacred Heart being parked near the hospital. The complainant asked the vehicle to be checked to ensure the doors were locked and it did not have any damage. Deputy Lane checked the vehicle and all appeared fine.
