Museum tourney raises $1,800 for local group

The team of Bob Benzel, Bruce Benzel, John Perry and Tim Wellsandt won first place in the Sept. 8 Museum Fundraiser Tournament at the Ritzville Municipal Golf Course with a scramble score of 53. The tournament helped raise around $1,800 for the two local museums.

The team of Dan Duff, Ron Grams, Rodney Kramer and Chris Boness received the second place finish with a score of 55. Placing third in the tournament is the Galbreath Farms team of Gary Galbreath, Marva Ulleland, Greg Galbreath and Clete Galbreath who scored a 57.

The Gering Farms team tied for fourth place with a team of current, and former, athletes from Lind-Ritzville High School with a score of 58. The Gering Farms team members are Gaynel, Gayle, Bryson and Brad Gering, and the student team is comprised of Trevor Jantz, Brian Campbell, Dylan Hartz and Colby Starring.

Individuals who scored the best on long drive, shot closest to the pin on the three par holes, and long putt, also won prizes. The winners for the shots to the two and four green are Carol Simonson, Ken Reams and Roger Schwab. Gaynel Gering and Clete Galbreath received awards for the long drive contest, and Dorothy Clinesmith and Clete Galbreath won for the longest putts.

The Ritzville Museum Volunteers’ officers coordinated the event under the leadership of chairman Ann Olson.
