Lady T-cats earn first win in volleyball season opener

The Lady Tigercats hosted Rosalia in a home game played in LaCrosse on Sept. 10 and earned a win in the first game of the season. The non-league match took five games to decide, with the Tigercats eventually getting the upper hand on Rosalia with scores of 25-15; 25-21; 20-25; 21-25; 15-13.

Leading the team at the net for the game was Gail Harder, who earned five kills during the game. Nicole Harder led the Lady Tigercats in digs with two, and Britte Harder controlled the net with three blocks.

Lindsey Miller, the Lady Tigercats starting setter, providing 12 assists on the night. Kadie Whinery controlled the serving game for the team with two aces.

The team served 90 percent on the night, and head coach Sarah Mayer was impressed with the girls’ wonderful serving ability. She said the game served as a learning experience for the team, but overall the girls hustled and attacked from the back row.

The Lady Tigercats go on the road on Thursday, Sept. 11, to face Tri-Cities Prep at 5 p.m. The game is also a non-league match for the LW team.
