Heidenreich’s new single debuts July 6

Ritzville native Chelsey Heidenreich is preparing to release a new single titled “All the Late Nights” on Saturday, July 6. The single is the title track for her upcoming album.

Heidenreich was approached to write the single for an upcoming local film titled “Mist Under Water,” to be filmed in Sandpoint, Idaho, later this year.

The film is expected to encompass a medieval or primitive feel and will include a cameo appearance by Heidenreich as a mermaid. She said she had to revamp her style of music for the song to match the theme of the movie and to provide a harder rock feel to it.

“I took the song from happy to dark,” Heidenreich explained about the song transformation. “We kept the music and sped up the tempo.”

As her music career continues to develop, Heidenreich continues to have many opportunities to try different sounds and techniques with her music. This album she says has more of a heavy rock sound, compared to her first album that was more traditional pop and folk themed. She said she had to retrain her voice in order to begin performing harder rock songs for the album and with her band.

Heidenreich currently lives in Spokane and when she is not busy in the studio writing and performing her own music, Heidenreich serves as a producer at Hit Street Records for other local musicians. Additionally, she is the lead singer for a local band called Raze the City, who perform together in local venues all over Spokane and surrounding area.

Heidenreich’s single, “All the Late Nights,” can be viewed starting in July on her website at http://chelseyheidenreich.com or on her Facebook page at Chelsey Heidenreich Music.
