Snowflakes to support Sandy Hook Elementary

The Ritzville Girl Scout Troop No. 1310 is set to host a community snowflake making party on Thursday, Jan. 3, at 6 p.m., at the Ritzville Grade School cafeteria.

The Girl Scouts decided to host the event after staff at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., announced they were seeking help to make the school feel welcoming to the returning students, after the recent tragedy that occurred at the school on Friday, Dec. 14. The staff has asked for snowflake donations to make a “winter wonderland” for the children.
