Lind parade lights up downtown

The 13th Annual Lind Lighted Christmas Parade was a huge success on Sunday, according to Chamber representatives. Twelve lighted entries were on display for a record audience during the annual winter parade. Spectators were dazzled with a fireworks display to kick start the beginning of the parade.

Float entries were judged prior to the start of the parade. Earning Grand Prize honors was “Santa’s Parts Runner,” sponsored by St. John Hardware and behind the reins was Bryden Laird as Santa. First place went to “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer,” by the Longmeier Family; Theresa Longmeier, Mike Longmeier, and Gary and Donna Bittick. Second place was awarded to “The Grinch,” made by the Ralston Rangers Junior Grange and 4-H group; riding on the float were: Abby McLellan, Bailey McLellan, Bailey Dennis, Emma Dennis, Ben Dennis, Ethan Dennis, Jack Anderson, Sharon Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Amy Anderson and Alexis Melcher. Third place was awarded to grand marshal Beverly Lomax. Fourth place went to “Christmas in America,” by The Golf Widows; Carol Kelly, Karla Fowles and Phyllis Wahl.

Theresa Longmeier led the parade carrying the American Flag and dressed as “The Nutcracker.”

Other parade entries included: “Merry Ag Christmas,” sponsored by The McGregor Company, driven by Casey Michaels and Chris Haddorf; State B Football Champions of the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague team; Go Kart and Quad entry driven by Jeremy and Timothy McLellan; Christmas Derby Car sponsored by Ritzville Parts House/Napa and driven by Brooke, Robby; Lind Fire Department Fire Truck and “Santa’s Helpers,” sponsored by Chris Madison Auto Smith and The McGregor Company, riding on the float were: Olivia Blake, Deacon Haase, LeaCadia Bren, Mia Rouleau, Nicholas Labes, Taytum Labes and Aliya Kulm.
