Washtucna schools award students

The Washtucna school district recognized all honor roll students from the seventh-11th grade during an awards banquet at the conclusion of the school year.

The second semester honor roll students maintaining a 3.25-3.49 GPA are  Amber Dainty, Logan Harder and Eric Wise.

One student received principal’s list honors by keeping a 3.50-3.74 GPA and that student is Gail Harder.

Students who received superintendent’s list awards by sustaining a 3.75-3.99 GPA are Sawyer Hostetler, Brooklynn Hostetler and Sam Harder.

Students who received an attendance award were Derek McKeen, Douglas McKeen and Garrett Correll.

These students missed less than three days of school throughout the whole year.

The President’s Education Award for Academic Success was presented to Sam Harder, Sawyer Hostetler, Brooklynn Hostetler, Gail Harder and Britte Harder.

Students receiving math awards at the banquet were Derek McKeen and Britte Harder for seventh grade; Jazlynn Webb for eighth grade; Brooklynn Hostetler for geometry; Sawyer Hostetler for pre-calculus; and Jena Goude for calculus.

Brooklynn Hostetler received the accounting excellence award and Sam Harder received the outstanding junior student award.

Students receiving the Washington State FFA Degree were John Holdren and Amber Dainty. John Holdren earned the District 9 State Star award from the Washington State FFA Association.

In the music and band category, the awards given were Patrick S. Gilmore Award, Sam Harder; Director’s Award, Chance Rice; Southeast Washington Honor Band and All State Marching Band, Sam Harder; and All State Band Award to Britte Harder.

The English 11 excellence award was presented to Sam Harder and Amanda Woodard received the English 12 excellence award.

  Sawyer Hostetler received the weight training excellence award and Garrett Correll was recognized for excellence in Physical Education.
