June 8, 5:40 p.m. – Officer Hunter Klewin responded to an agency assistance call at Sun Mart on West Galbreath Way. A male subject had fainted and lost consciousness. Officer Klewin stood by as the ambulance crew arrived and assisted the subject.

June 8, 3:04 p.m. – Officer Klewin responded to a suspicious person call at the Ritz Food Mart on South Bauman Street. Officer Klewin made contact with the subjects in the Sun Mart parking lot and advised them that someone saw suspicious items in their truck. The subjects opened the truck and Officer Klewin observed a Makita brand chop saw and a DeWalt tool box. The subjects advised they live in Spokane and are on their way to Seattle for a construction job. Both subjects cleared with no warrants.

June 8, 2:13 p.m. – Officer Klewin responded to a citizen assist call in the 600-block of West Main Avenue. The complainant wanted to file a report regarding the actions of their child, in response to the grandchild that the complainant has custody of. Child Protection Services recommended the report be generated.

June 8, 11:27 a.m. – Officer Klewin responded to an animal problem in the 400-block of East Cherry Avenue, where the complainant advised that the neighbor’s dog was running at large and being aggressive. Officer Klewin made contact with the complainant who advised the incident was already reported.

June 7, 9:34 p.m. – Officer Tom Gracie responded to a citizen dispute at the Ritzville Pastime, in the 100-block of West Main Avenue. Officer Gracie contacted the parties involved who advised they were having a disagreement about subject one giving subject two a ride home. Officer Gracie contacted witnesses who confirmed the story.

June 7, 8:05 a.m. – Chief Dave McCormick responded to a malicious mischief call at the Big Daddy Car Wash in the 200-block of East Main Avenue. Chief McCormick was advised that the nozzle hose on the east bay had been cut and the brush hose on the west bay had been cut. Chief McCormick made contact with the business owner who advised they had been experiencing some issues with the hoses and that they are both now fixed and that no vandalism had occurred.

June 6, 1:40 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised Chief McCormick of a cell phone found in the 100-block of East Broadway Avenue. The subject later contacted Chief McCormick at the police department to retrieve their phone.

June 5, 11:24 p.m. – While on patrol, Sergeant Mark Cameron observed a juvenile driving around the city after curfew hours. Sgt. Cameron made contact with the juvenile driver in the 200-block of North Adams Street and advised them of the curfew hours. Sgt. Cameron further explained that if the juvenile was out past curfew their parents could be fined. The juvenile advised they understood and departed. This is the juvenile’s last curfew warning.

June 4, 9:36 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a call about a suspicious person in the 300-block of East Birch Avenue. Sgt. Cameron made contact with the subject who advised they were looking around their mom’s property while waiting for their ride back to Spokane. Sgt. Cameron knew the subject and that they were allowed on the property and cleared the scene.

June 4, 8:51 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a request for agency assistance at the 200-block of East Second Avenue. Sgt. Cameron was advised that an authorized agent from the City of Ritzville was on the premises to shut off the water to the residence earlier that morning when a large dog, that was in the fenced yard, charged at them from inside the yard. The city is requesting assistance in contacting the resident. Sgt. Cameron made contact with the resident who advised they would contact the city to handle their utility bill and the licensing of the dog. Sgt. Cameron cleared the scene.

June 4, 1:00 p.m. – Officer Klewin responded to a citizen assistance call in the 500-block of East First Avenue. The complainant advised that a third party was accusing the complainant’s husband of theft. The complainant wanted it documented that they did not have the third party’s possessions.

June 4, 11:09 a.m. – Officer Klewin responded to a two vehicle, non-injury, non-blocking collision in the area of West Alder Avenue and North Adams Street. Officer Klewin was advised that the driver of the first vehicle backed onto Alder, striking the second vehicle that was traveling west on Alder.

June 3, 9:08 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a welfare check request in the 400-block of West Fourth Avenue. Lincoln County Sheriff requested the welfare check as the subject was acting incoherently. Sgt. Cameron made contacted with the subject and all appeared to be fine. Sgt. Cameron cleared contact.

June 3, 8:23 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to the 100-block of East Broadway Avenue where a male subject was revving their engine and the exhaust was bothersome to the neighbors. Sgt. Cameron contacted the subject who advised they had been working on the vehicle and were preparing to take it to the repair shop on North Division Street. Sgt. Cameron observed the subject drive and park the vehicle at the repair shop and cleared the scene.

June 3, 6:15 p.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a traffic collision in the 100-block of Galbreath Way. The collision did not meet state reporting requirements. Officer Gracie contacted the parties involved and assisted with an exchange of information.

June 3, 5:46 p.m. – Officer Gracie was advised of three vehicles driving at high speeds in the 600-block of South Palouse Street. A description of the vehicles was given to Officer Gracie and he located them parked at the golf course. Officer Gracie contacted the drivers of the vehicles and warned them about speeding in the area.

June 3, 4:38 p.m. – While on patrol, Officer Gracie observed an unattended burn pile in the 1100-block of Fairway Avenue. Officer Gracie observed the burn pile was smoking and emitting open flame. Officer Gracie notified the Ritzville Fire Department who extinguished the fire.

June 3, 2:25 p.m. – Dispatch advised Officer Gracie of a suspected collision in the 200-block of East Dogwood Avenue. Officer Gracie contacted the complainant who stated the suspect vehicle appeared to have been involved in a collision at an unknown location. Officer Gracie contacted the vehicle’s owner who advised they were not in a collision and did not know how the vehicle got damaged. Investigation ongoing.

June 3, 2:22 a.m. – Officer Klewin responded to a call of a suspicious person outside a residence in the 100-block of East Sixth Avenue. Upon arrival, Officer Klewin was unable to locate the suspect.

June 2, 11:11 p.m. – Officer Klewin was advised of a suspicious male in the area of Washington Street and Cherry Street. The subject was walking around and appeared disoriented. Officer Klewin checked the area and was unable to locate any subjects in the area.

June 2, 11:09 p.m. – Officer Klewin responded to the Ritzville Pastime regarding a dispute between two female subjects. Upon arrival it was learned that one of the subjects’ boyfriend had a felony warrant out of Pierce County. An unidentified male subject was arrested and booked into jail on the warrant.

June 1, 10:52 p.m. – Dispatch advised Officer Gracie of a cell phone that had been found at the Gilson Gym at the 400-block of East Wellsandt Road. Officer Gracie contacted the complainant who advised they found the phone in the weight room. Officer Gracie retrieved the phone and transported it to the Ritzville Police Department where it was placed into the property room.

June 1, 10:13 p.m. – Adams County dispatch advised Officer Gracie of a suspicious vehicle in the area of East Cherry Avenue and Chelan Street. Dispatch advised the complainant was unable to provide a description of the vehicle. Officer Gracie responded to the area and was unable to locate anyone.

June 1, 9:21 p.m. – While on patrol, Officer Gracie observed a suspicious vehicle parked behind Adams Automotive, in the 300-block of West First Avenue. Upon approaching the vehicle, it drove away. Officer Gracie initiated a traffic stop and contacted the driver who stated they were looking at tires. It did not appear anything had been taken from the business.

June 1, 2:59 p.m. – Officer Klewin responded to an agency assistance call on Highway 395 near milepost 94. Washington State Patrol Trooper Dustin Stephan requested assistance for a possible narcotics investigation. Office Klewin stood by with the detained subject who advised they had placed marijuana inside their pants. Trooper Stephan removed a bag from the subject’s pants. WSP Sergeant Steven Morehead arrived on scene and Officer Klewin cleared.

June 1, 11:24 a.m. – Officer Klewin responded to a possible burglary on West Main Avenue at Casuela’s Grill.

June 1, 10:41 a.m. – Officer Klewin responded to a citizen assist at the 200-block of East Broadway Avenue. The complainant was concerned that their son was listed as a runaway and may be arrested by Othello Police Department if he shows up in the area. Officer Klewin contacted dispatch and was advised the subject was not listed as a runaway and OPD has the case entered as closed. Officer Klewin notified the complainant of the findings.
