Wargo moves on in tennis for Tigercats

Justin Wargo is moving on to represent the LaCrosse-Washtucna Tigercat tennis team at the state finals this weekend at the Yakima Tennis Club.

Wargo has been a leader on the Tigercat team all season as he competes as the No. 1 boys singles player. He has remained a constant and consistent player, earning third place in the district tournament in order to continue to regional tournament.

During the regional event last weekend, Wargo found himself in a loser-out competition with Lind-Ritzville/Sprague player, Zach Swanger. Swanger and Wargo have gone back in forth throughout the season, with Swanger winning the first time they met and Wargo the second time.

Wargo continued his winning streak and earned fourth place at the tournament, winning 6-3, 6-2, and earning a place in the state competition. The top four in each category automatically continue to state.

At the first round of the state tournament, Wargo has been matched up to place Trym Torvund, the No. 1 singles player for the Overlake team.
