Plummer, Snyder to lead hospital board

Stacey Plummer will serve as chairman of Adams County Public Hospital District No. 2’s Board of Commissioners this year.

A veteran member of the board, Plummer was re-elected in the November General Election.

A special meeting of the commissioners was held Thursday, Jan. 5, for the purpose of board reorganization and the establishment of designated legal counsel for the district.

During the reorganization process, Plummer was nominated as chairman. The motion passed with affirmative votes by Jerry Snyder and Jeff Reynolds.

Jerry Crossler abstained from the vote and Kirk Danekas was not present.

Snyder was then elected vice chairman for the district. Crossler abstained again.

The final action item was the designation of Randall L. Stamper of the law firm Stamper Rubens, P.S. as the official attorney for the district. The firm is based in Spokane

Stamper had previously served the district as legal counsel for many years.

During the past year, CEO Mark Barglof and the district’s commissioners had primarily utilized legal counsel from other firms in the Seattle area.

In appointing Stamper, the commissioners also directed Barglof to use Stamper “when assistance of legal counsel is required to assist the district in all matters going forward.”

The motion was approved with Crossler voting against it.

Danekas said this week he did not attend the meeting because he had a prior commitment. He said he would have been present if he had more notice about the meeting.
