Darlene J. Rehn

Darlene J. Rehn, age 72, a lifelong resident of Lind, died on Dec. 11, 2011.

She was born at the family farm in Lind on Dec. 5, 1939, to William Sackmann and Martha Kautz.

She graduated from Lind High School in 1958 and married Donald Rehn on June 15, 1958.

Following the wedding they moved to the farm in Lind where they farmed until 1985. She worked for many years as a secretary and receptionist for three local companies in Lind as well.

She was active in the Lind Tridecum Club, Lind Junior Miss program, the Girl Scouts, Zion Congregational Women’s Fellowship, Soup Supper, Ritzville Peace by Piece Quilt Guild and Local Quilt group.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 1991; her mother and father William and Martha Sackmann.

She is survived by her children, Doug (Wanda) Rehn, Donna (Craig) Klindworth, Debbie (Rick) Melanson, David (Samantha) Rehn; four grandchildren; brothers: Richard (Betty) Sackmann and Norman Sackmann and a sister, Karen (Daryl) Lowe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at Lind Community Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital.
