Speeding enforcement nets 155 tickets in Adams and Grant Counties

Between July 15 and Aug. 7 extra law enforcement patrols were out in search of speeding drivers.

During the patrols in Adams and Grant Counties, 155 speeding tickets were written in addition to 10 aggressive driving citations, one misdemeanor drug arrest, one DUI, seven seat belt violations, three child passenger safety infractions as well as 12 uninsured motorist and eight suspended/revoked license violations.

In Lincoln County, 21 speeding citations were issued as well as one seat belt violation, one uninsured motorist and one suspended/revoked license violations.

Participating in these extra patrols in Adams and Grant Counties were the Ephrata, Moses Lake, Quincy and Royal City Police Departments, the Adams and Grant County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Patrol.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office participated in that area.

According to an online survey conducted during these patrols, of the eight multiple choice questions asked, the majority of respondents answered six of the questions correctly.

The final question was open ended.

The Central Basin Traffic Safety Task Force supported the extra patrols, funded by a grant from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.
