    All are invited to join for New Years Eve Bingo in Washtucna on Monday, Dec. 31, at the Lions Den on Main Street. Bingo night is hosted by the Washtucna-Benge Lions Club and begins at 7 p.m. The tradition of free, endless popcorn continues throughout the entire evening. Hotdogs, chilidogs, soda pop and candy are available for purchase from the kitchen. Bingo is one of the Lions Club’s fundraisers, with proceeds used for projects in the community.   • Snowflakes to support Sandy Hook Elementary

    The Ritzville Girl Scout Troop No. 1310 is set to host a community snowflake making party on Thursday, Jan. 3, at 6 p.m., in the Ritzville Grade School cafeteria. The troop decided to host the event after staff at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., announced they were seeking help to make the school feel welcoming to the returning students, after the tragedy that occurred at the school on Friday, Dec. 14.     Families in the Lind and Washtucna community were provided with a delicious Christmas ham, courtesy of Hams From the Heart, on Saturday, Dec. 22. Brandon Knodel continued the fundraising effort for the second consecutive year to bring nourishment to families in need during the holiday season.     The Lady Tigercats continue to try to earn a win during the season, and struggled during back-to-back games last weekend. The Lady Tigercats faced Rosalia in league play, falling to the Lady Spartans with a final score of 9-56.     The LRS Bronco wrestling team traveled to the North Okanogan Holiday Invitational Wrestling Tournament in Oroville on Saturday, Dec. 22. The team took 10 wrestlers.     The Caring Neighbors board recently donated $1,050 to the Lind-Ritzville High School FFA chapter. The donated money was used to offset costs toward the FFA National Convention held in Indianapolis this past October.
