    The Ralston Grange will be sponsoring a bingo and silent auction fundraiser at their hall on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 5-8 p.m. Funds raised during the event will be used to support Ritzville and Lind students for an educational trip to Florida during Spring Break. Admission to the event is free, but there will be a cost of 50 cents per bingo card. The grand prize is half of the money from each game.   • Early deadline for The Journal

    Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the Ritzville Adams County Journal is operating under an earlier deadline for the Nov. 23 edition of the paper. The deadline for advertising and news submissions is Monday, Nov. 20, by 12 p.m. The newspaper will return to regular deadlines the following week.     Ritzville businesses and organizations who have applied for 110 Funds in 2018 may want to have Nov. 28 open on their calendars. The Ritzville City Council approved holding a special meeting on Nov. 28 at 5:30 p.m. to hear presentations from 110 fund applicants. Mayor Gary Cook said the 110 fund applications were distributed two weeks prior to the council meeting and were due on Nov. 15.   • Strata Solar holds public meeting in Lind - Company provides information about potential solar project

    Lind residents filled the Community Church’s fellowship hall on Nov. 8 to learn about the Adams-Nielson Solar Project. Strata Solar, a family-owned solar energy company based out of North Carolina, is overseeing the development of the project located north of Lind by the water tanks and next to the cemetery.   • Local agencies respond to collisions, vehicle fires in Ritzville

    Local firefighters and emergency crews had a busy four days with responding to collisions and vehicle fires. On Nov. 10, Adams County Fire Protection District No. 1 and Ritzville EMTs responded to a vehicle rollover on westbound Interstate 90 at milepost 223, two miles east of Ritzville at 5:27 a.m. A vehicle driving in the eastbound lane rolled over into the westbound lanes.     Eva “Eve” Conrad Bachman, 90, wife of the late James “Jim” Bachman, died early Nov. 5 in Spokane, surrounded by her loving family.
