Galen R. Schweitzer 87, of Washtucna died on Oct. 15, at Life Care Center in Ritzville. His life partner and soul mate Lynda Hamilton was by his side. Galen was born in Winthrop, Buchanan County, Iowa to Charles and Lila Schweitzer on December 9, 1926. He was one of 12 children. The Lady Tigercats had a busy week as they concluded league competition on Oct. 28 against St. John-Endicott. The LWK team faced a loss to Pomeroy, before bouncing back to earn wins over SJE and Liberty Christian. In their last two matches of the regular season the Lady Broncos were able to over come their opponents. On Saturday, Oct. 25, they traveled to Kettle Falls to take on the Bulldogs. The Lind-Ritzville FFA Chapter took two teams to participate in the state Land Evaluation competition on Wednesday, Oct. 22, with one team returning home with the state title. The five member team has now received the opportunity to travel to Oklahoma at the end of April to compete in the national contest.
