    Due to a malfunctioning pump motor, the City of Ritzville’s Well No. 9 has been out of service recently, according to a news release from Mayor Gary Cook. The city is currently working with contractors to have the motor reinstalled by next week.     The Ritzville City Council voted to move ahead with the Standpipe Recoating Project at the Aug. 6 council meeting. The city received a memo from Ben Varela, of Varela & Associates, on Aug. 5, who recommended that the city should move forward now with the project, using available Drinking Water State Revolving Funds that are set to expire on Dec. 31 of this year.
